Hey guys! I was rifling though my eyeliners this morning and realized how many blue shades I own! I love incorporating hints of color into my summer makeup, especially by lining the eyes with bright or glittery liners. Blues are so fun to work with, plus they make the whites of your eyes appear whiter!
My favorite blue liner last summer, was Benefit's 'Steel Her Date', which was part of a LE set for Christmas a couple years back. 'Steel Her Date' is a dark blue metallic shade with glitter and I love it for the lower lash line. If you don't own 'Steel Her Date', a very close dupe is Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide On Pencil in 'LSD' ($20) which is a deeper blue shade with blue glitter. I swatched 'LSD' heavily, so if you are using it for the water line, you may need more than one of two passes to build up the color.
Sephora's Contour Eye Pencil in '23 Summer Cruise' ($10) is a frosty, bright blue shade with slight shimmer. It requires a few passes to build up before it is completely opaque. Sephora boasts a 12 hour wear on these eyeliners but this particular shade lasts around 6 to 7 hours without smudging or wearing off.
NYX's Studio Liquid Liner in 'SLL101 Extreme Blue' ($4.50) is a vibrant blue with no glitter. A bold eyeliner with such good color pay off at this price seems like a dream come true. This is a great shade for those who are trying to incorporate brighter colors in their makeup but don't want to go straight for the super light and bright blues. I find that this liner can start to flake after a couple hours but it lasts if you don't rub at it.
Jordana Cat Liner in '05 Caribbean' ($2.99) is a metallic bright aqua. Of the 6 eyeliners, it is the most water resistant and you really can't beat that price. The formula is quite thin so my solution is to apply the liner and then let it set and apply it again to get better color pay off.
Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in '7L Turquoise' ($19) is a light blue turquoise with some glitter. This liner lasts 9 hours on my lids before fading. It is the brightest blue of the bunch and it looks great on the waterline.
