Pony Effect Radiance Glow Hydrating Starter & Strobing Luminizer | Review + Swatches

Part two of my Pony Effect strobing essentials is here! Today I will be focusing on two liquid based pump products from the line. The Radiance Glow Hydrating Primer (1.01oz, $21) and the Strobing Luminizer (1.15oz, $21). Read my thoughts on the Mirage Highlighters here!

"This skin-perfecting makeup starter will give you that candle-lit glow without any visible shimmer.” The Radiance Glow Hydrating Primer boasts four benefits; illuminating, hydrating, brightening and wrinkle-care. I can’t speak for the wrinkle-care but it all of the others do check out. There is a fresh floral scent that is not overpowering. This is definitely the product that does not work for me but some others will love. With my oily skin, applying it on its own makes me extremely shiny and greasy-looking in all the wrong places. As a primer, it’s alright, I do find that it makes makeup go on smoother/better but I don’t find it to make it last longer. If you like the look and finish of the primer when applying it on its own, I would use it for just that as I don’t really see any of the brightening effects after I put makeup over it (this may be different if you have a darker skin tone). This was a disappointing product for me but if you have normal to dry skin that is dull, you may like this as you moisturizer/primer.

"This blendable liquid highlighter gives a beautiful champagne glow that looks flattering on any skin tone.” Pony’s Strobing Luminizer is much like her line of Mirage Highlighters; subtle and natural. You can wear this under or over your makeup or mix this in with a foundation for a real glow. The texture is thicker/creamier than any liquid highlighter I currently own so blending is a little more work. On my cheekbones, I do have to set it due to the liquid nature of the product but if you do not have oily skin, you should be fine after tapping it on. I’ve been wearing it with the Mirage Highlighters on top and loving that it can still look natural. For a more intense highlight, you can apply something like Becca’s Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop over it.

Both products are lightweight and hold up to their claims. The Radiance Glow Hydrating Starter and the Strobing Luminizer come in beautiful packaging with rose gold details. Just consider your skin type when purchasing and even if you don't, these products are fool proof enough to work around. How much you like all of the strobing products in the Pony Effect line will depend on how intense or subtle you like your highlight. I think the pricing on these is pretty good but for my skin type and preference, both products have misses. Both are available on Memebox.com
